I did it!

When my alarm went off today at five, every excuse in the book popped up as reasons why I should stay in bed. Instead, I got up and slowly left the house embarking on the same run that we had planned for last week but were unable to do since the Grand Prix was going on. The morning was quiet as I climbed hill after hill. Forbes might have been easier than Panther Hollow/Beacon - the hill that just KEEPS going up and up. Overall the run was good, I had a longer stop near the beginning but total time was 1:55 so not bad going solo on a tough course. Oh yeah, to extend the 11 mile route I went up Commercial at the very end into Swisshelm Park - that was slightly masochistic. Glad to be done for the weekend but really wanting to take a nap at work!

Congrats on getting yourself out of bed early for a long run on a work day! I had trouble getting up and I didn't even have anything particularly time intensive to do before going to work...

You are a beast! Go get 'em, girl!! The Grand Prix screwed up my runs this weekend, too. Luckily I tried to run through the park on my Saturday run so I learned that way and could modify my long run accordingly. I ran the jail trail instead and hated it.

ew. I'm guessing that the sun was blazing hot when you were on the trail with no shade, water, or breeze - except for what the cars make...we've found though that the greyhound station does allow for a quick pitstop without shame since you are definitely not the nastiest person in the building!

So I also want to say that my body has become addicted to yoga after our long runs - and since I didn't fit it in this morning, my body is hating me right now - perfect for sitting on a plane later!
